Fall is on our doorstep with all its colours and creative energies. We’ll be touring Quebec and Ontario, Canada in sept/oct and another highlight of the fall will be going to Iceland and Iceland Airwaves for the first time. You can find our announced tour dates here on our website under Tour in the menu. Closer to winter we’ll return to Europe too, but more about that later!

Hi friends and fans of Thus Owls,

Fresh off of festival season, we’re taking a little breather before heading out to Eastern Canada in September and Ontario and Quebec in October, including TWO shows in Montreal. The Maritimes dates will be our first run as a duo, and we’re very excited to play you our tunes in a stripped down intimate format. We’ll be back with the full band in Quebec and Ontario. Our friend Michael Feuerstack will open all dates! You can check out the full list of dates in the Tour section.

We’re also pleased to present a live video from our launch at La Tulipe in Montreal this April. Watch “Smoke Like Birds” here!

Thanks for your continued support and we hope to see you out there.

Love,
Owls

New video for “How, In My Bones”

Posted by | Uncategorized | No Comments

The song How, In My Bones treats pieces of a lingering childhood memory filled with emotions of shame, loss and the inevitable experience of learning from mistakes. And after some brainstorming around these subjects, Mylène Simard and Becca Blackwood started creating these wonderful and surreal visual portraits. The idea was to shape moody worlds, put together of scattered pieces from a lost or vague memory, where most of the details have gone missing. What is left has been reshaped and interpreted so many times over the years that it doesn’t necessarily resemble the truth anymore. The end result is a bit like being a spectator, a fly on the wall, to someone else’s dream. – Erika

NEW VIDEO FOR “AS LONG AS WE TRY A LITTLE”

Posted by | Uncategorized | No Comments

Our first video for the opening track of Turning Rocks. This abstract, beautiful and weird video about two elderly men on a mission to fetch the moon was directed by Joseph Yarmush and it gives the slow built  ballad “As long as we try a little” a nice frame to grow in. A big thank you to wonderful Joe, Phil, Pierre, Colin who struggled in the cold Montréal winter to make this video happen!!!

Hope you all like it!
